Has your UK #hyperlocal ever applied for Lottery funding? Let us know your experience so we can chat with the Lottery

19th September 2014 by William Perrin

At Talk About Local we want to hear about your experience as a local website applying for Lottery funding.  We think that hyperlocal sites add a huge amount to community life and, where there is a strong volunteer component should be a natural for Lottery funding.  But we hear conflicting accounts from people who run local sites about their ability to access Lottery money.  One or two people we know have managed to get some Lottery support (maybe with a heritage component or some built environment) but the majority we speak to have either tried to apply unsuccessfully or have ruled themselves out, thinking that the Lottery doesn’t fund that sort of thing.  We’d like to garner some evidence to have a chat with the Lottery adminstrators – either add something in the comments or drop me a mail william@talkaboutlocal.org
