    Will,

Thank you for your kind words about me and featuring my site as one of your example web sites. Slight correction, Formby is really a typical dormitory town, but everyone uses the term ‘Formby Village’ to describe the centre. Essentially ‘Formby is a Town with a village at it’s heart’ it is surrounded by countryside on 3 sides and the sea to the east. There is a strong sense of self-containment, but there are 9500+ dwellings and 25000+ residents.
On a personal note I’ll be 69 in November and to your audiences I would say this, if I can use the internet in this way so can anyone else. If one of your existing clients or future clients wants an online email based mentor I’d be delighted to offer help, please feel free to pass on my email and I will share my experiences willingly, I owe that to the ‘talkaboutlocal’ community,

    Regards,

    Sean Brady

A great day. Many thanks to all at TalkAboutLocal for making the journey to a tiny Gloucestershire village to show us what can be achieved. We will be talking about the TechFest and what we learnt for some time to come.
    This Storify is brilliant.

Thanks Nicki for your patience, really useful info given and hopefully we will go forward with an amazing site that will be community driven.

Hi Nicky, Great news we now have site up and running and many of the Village Hall users are really pleased with the new look. Following a Village hall meeting earlier this week there was a unanimous view that the site should be developed further, and we are currently working on an online booking system and secure password set up. In the New Year fundraising will start for the essential repairs that are needed for the building and we will eventually develop an ecommerce facility to allow fundraising payments to be made on line.

That’s great news Sally! Will, Nicky and myself really enjoyed the WI. If we can be of any help at all, please give us a shout 🙂

At last Beckford has a real “Community” Site on the World Wide Web. Well done to Sally for having the courage to take the initiative… & to Geoff for all his hard work (not forgetting Richards generosity & technical endeavor).
