It’s coming, #TAL16 is heading back to its roots.
We’re heading back to Birmingham, not far from Digital Digbeth, where the Talk About Local story began back in 2009.
In an event that will no doubt be bigger than #Speilberginbrum, we’re delighted to say that #TAL16 will be held in the Birmingham City University, Curzon Building, on Saturday 15 October. The Curzon Building is just a short walk from Birmingham New Street and Moor Street Stations.
Hyperlocal has moved on so much in the last few years and is now getting some recognition as a valuable news resource. Our unconference will be the place where hyperlocal site owners can get together, meet up with old friends and hopefully make new ones.
In the true ethos of our previous unconferences, it will be a bit random, there will be lots of talking, there will be great discussions, there will be the obligatory free lunch, there will be beer & curry.
You want more? Of course there will be prizes given for winners of ambiguous categories, mainly because we want to visit Latifs.
I mean who can forget Philip John in the child’s superman costume in Cardiff?
You forgot? Oh….

All of this wouldn’t be possible without the assistance of Jez Turner and the godfather of Hyperlocal research, Dave Harte, from Birmingham City University School of Media who have arranged the venue for us.
Tickets for this years event are genuinely limited by the venue, so please don’t book because you think you might come. If you book a ticket and can’t attend please tell us so we can re allocate it.
If you could join us for the day that would be great so head over to tal16.eventbrite.co.uk to sign up.
