I’m delighted to announce that Sarah Hartley is joining the Talk About Local team. We’ve worked with Sarah in all sorts of ways in the last couple of years as she built up the Guardian Local operation and most recently the excellent new hyperlocal service n0tice.com. The whole team at Talk About Local are delighted that Sarah will join us as interim managing director in January.
Sarah has the rare skill set of journalism craft skills, web team management, product development, practical new media savvy and personal integrity. And she’s really nice.
For me, bringing Sarah on board positions us well for growth over the next six months as we develop some great new projects. Sarah will work with us and maintain a continuing role leading the community strategy for n0tice.com. Talk About Local remains platform neutral – we’ve worked publicly with n0tice.com since its inception and think it’s a great product for the hyperlocal scene.
“I am delighted to be starting 2012 tackling some new challenges working alongside the talented and dedicated team at TAL.
“We have some exciting new initiatives in the pipeline, helping people find their online voice for communities, as well as continuing to be active in supporting and promoting the many blogs and websites we are already involved with.”
Sarah has been working with us quietly for some weeks now and it’s particularly good to have her in place when, all being well I take paternity leave early in the New Year.
