Make your site talk with Voki

24th October 2010 by clare white

Why wouldn’t you want a talking alien against a backdrop of your own village on your website? I can’t think of a single reason.

Voki allows you to play with any number of different options to create a character and get it to speak. It could be a virtual tourguide or a friendly way to tell off your site’s trolls.

I don’t think it will embed onto WordPress-hosted sites, so you may have to link to your character once it has been created. It’s only for educational and non-commercial use, so if you are running your site as a business, you’ll need a subscription to use it.

I saw it in action with the lovely teachers from Stoke’s Teachmeet event and saved this and many more useful tools here.
