Fix My Transport, which launched earlier this week is the latest creation from the fantastic My Society people.
Fix My Transport aims to make reporting public transport problems as easy as reporting pot-holes and broken street lights is on Fix My Street.
It has a very simple user interface which belies the huge database that it uses to workout who is responsible for the station, stop, bus, train, tram or ferry you want to report a problem with. Fix My Transport uses the same principles as Fix My Street, making reports transparent and public which means that they become so much harder for the operators to ignore.
For small rural communities Fix My Transport could be a real boon, if your community only has 2 buses each day then you can use the site to contact the operator to request more frequent services.
It is not a sure fire way to guarantee that your problem will get resolved but it will make it public and allow people to see what reports are being made about transport services in their areas. It will also allow communities and groups to join together to help support each other.
Fix My Transport isn’t all about complaints either, if you want to leave a positive comment about a station or service, you can do this as well.
